The Most Successful Auto Repair Shop Owners DREAM!
Dream by Rick White, President 180BIZ
Dream. The word for today is DREAM. Why? Because the future isn't some smokey thing out there in the clouds. You create it. Think of the future as a blank slate. That's what it is. Your future is a blank slate. Your future is created with dreams. It is the dreams that you have today and the actions that you take based on what you believe that create your future. No one else is responsible for creating your future other than yourself. You are responsible for creating your future. It’s that simple.
If you don’t actively create your own future, one of two things will happen.
- Your future will be created for you by someone else's dream.
- You’ll be stuck where you are.
Regardless of which happens, your piece of the pie will get a little bit smaller each and every day.
If you stay who you are right now, you will stay where you are right now.
You create your future with the dreams you have today coupled with the actions you take. I want you to get this. So, start dreaming. Start dreaming big. If you're not dreaming about what is or what could be, you will be stuck in someone else's reality.
Do you get up in the morning with a pit in your stomach? Do you think about what will go wrong today? Do you think about how things will get worse today than they were yesterday? Do you think about what you’ll do to deal with today? Do you wonder why you're not living the life you want? It's because you're not dreaming. It's because you're not believing in that dream. And it's because you're not setting a standard and taking actions to make that dream a reality.
Here’s some advice on how to change it. Give yourself a little bit of quiet time and start to think about what you could create if failure was not an option. Ask yourself that question. Failure is never an option unless you walk away. That is the only failure. Everything else that happens to us, our lessons, they're showing us how to do things more elegantly. That's all it is. So, stop calling those lessons a failure and start calling them lessons.
Lessons helped me get better. Every single day I work on getting a little bit better than the day before. If you and I sat down and listened to one of my first coaching calls from 2003, we would be rolling on the ground laughing. I was horrible compared to today. And tomorrow I’ll be greater than today because I'm always looking to get better. I see a dream. I see a dream of impact. I see a dream of being able to help the most honest people in an industry that I love. That is my dream. What's yours? What is your dream?
This week, I ask you to step back and stop getting stuck in the daily grind. That term is horrible. No wonder no one wants to go to work. The only thing that should be ground is coffee. The rest of it is a blessing. It's an opportunity.
I'd love to hear from you in the comments section. I'd love to know what your dreams are. So, go out there and make a difference today. Go make some money. Have a great week. I'm here if you need me. Take care. God bless.
