If you’re starting the day thinking, “Same Stuff, Different Day”, then I hope you had an awesome yesterday because that’s what you’re going to get today. As Benjamin Franklin so wisely put it, “If you do tomorrow what you did today, you’ll get tomorrow what you got today.”Instead of seeing today as just another boring and tedious day, you need to see it as a new beginning.
Today really is a gift that is taken for granted way too often. I guarantee you that there will come a morning that you won’t be a part of. Don’t squander your today because that’s what your life is made of. Today is a chance to do better, to become more, to see more, and to experience more. Today is a chance to care, to serve, and to make a difference. Today is a magical do over and the beauty of it is today happens every 24 hours!
To help you maximize the opportunities that each today brings, you need to be looking for them. If you let what happened to you yesterday consume your focus today, then you’re going to miss these opportunities. To keep yesterday from invading today, I recommend reviewing your day each evening. Celebrate your wins, internalize your lessons, and formulate a plan to move forward with first thing in the morning. Then let go of the day and get a peaceful night’s sleep expecting to wake up to an awesome today. Wake up a little earlier in the morning and watch in awe the majesty of a sunrise. Think of 5 things you’re grateful for and then do a bit of reading focused on the positive. Now that you’re armed with your plan and the right perspective, you’re ready to enjoy today.
Waking up each day is such a blessing if you take the time to see it for what it is, a new beginning. Enjoy your day and thank you for being a part of mine!
