Fulfillment by Rick White, President 180BIZ (Estimated Read Time 4 minutes 30 seconds)

Today I’ll talk about feeling fulfilled. This is a really big deal because there are a lot of people that are going to work every day or going through life every day not feeling fulfilled. They feel empty. They feel hollow. They feel like something's missing. It's that feeling of fulfillment. Let's talk about the four areas in that you can find fulfillment.

The first area is your PURPOSE. Your purpose is the reason you get out of bed. Your purpose determines how you get out of bed. Whether you hop out of bed, roll out of bed, or fall out of bed. Your purpose is everything. Your purpose is what you do for other people. You get up to serve other people.

  1. My purpose is I watched my dad own a shop from 1968 to 1992. I watched him get paid less than everyone else. I watched him worry more and not be able to sleep. , He went through all kinds of different stresses for less money than anyone else in the shop. I know there are a lot of people out there, a lot of shop owners that are still in that position. Some great technicians don't know how to grow their businesses.

So that's my purpose, to help as many shop owners grow their businesses and flourish. To not struggle as my dad did.
  2. The second area where you can find fulfillment is your PASSION. It's what lights you up in the morning. It's what gets you going. We don't have passion all the time. So for me, passion is helping people.

My passion is when I see someone get something. When I'm talking to them about a concept or a strategy or I point out something that's holding them back and I see the light bulb go on. Bam! I'm telling you, that's my passion. That is what lights me up.
  3. The next area for your fulfillment is PEOPLE. It's the people you're serving. It’s the people that you're helping and doing things for. Now, understand that could be multi-level. In other words, I'm serving clients so that I can build wells in Africa.

We're serving clients so we can work with a woman's shelter in Uganda. My wife, Brenda, and I met the amazing directors. And that's part of our people thing. But also part of it is being able to serve you. One of the reasons why we do these mini-lessons is to have as much impact as we possibly can on the industry that I love. It’s the industry that I grew up in and the people that I care about so much.  That also lights me up.
  4. And then the fourth area for fulfillment is PROFIT. It's okay. There's a self-serving piece of every one of us. And sometimes we don't want to let it out. We feel dirty or selfish when we do. But the reality is, just like on the plane, when you put the oxygen mask on yourself first, you need to take care of yourself so that you can take care of others.

I saw Iyanla Vanzant on an Oprah special, and she said” My cup runneth over. What comes out of the cup is for y’all. What’s in the cup is mine.  But I’ve got to keep my cup full.” What comes out of the cup is energy, money, time, etc. So, profit is a good thing. Be aware that you must take care of yourself so that you can take care of others.

There are so many people running on empty today with nothing in the tank, nothing in the cup to give to others. But the reality is, we must get the blessing first. It must fill us up so that we can give that blessing.

Those are the four areas where you can find fulfillment. Purpose, passion, people, and profit. Profit is not a bad word. It's okay to say to yourself, “I want…” I grew up in a financially insecure environment. And you can say to yourself, “I want to feel secure. I want to feel safe. I want to give my kids something that I didn't have.”  That's okay. There's nothing wrong with that. Just be aware of what you're willing to give to get it and then focus on the giving and let the blessing, the profit, be the byproduct.

If this message resonated, please share it. The only way we can make an impact, we need your help. I need your help.

The last thing that I want to talk to you about is the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM Eastern, we do our Shop Owners' Round Table.  It’s another way we're giving so that we can have an impact on the industry. We’d like to help as many people as we possibly can, but we can't do that without you.

God bless. Stay safe, have some fun, and go make some abundance. Take care.
